LX800 EOL Replacement

With EOL AMD Geode LX800, EMAC can always help you choose the best Off-the-Shelf replacement for any legacy system. AMD’s long-running embedded processor the AMD Geode LX800 is closing in on the end of its life, working to find replacements for the EOL AMD Geode LX800 process boards. below we look at what replacements are available and where the AMD Geode LX800 came from. The AMD Geode LX Processor has had over 20 years in an industry where 3 years old is ancient technology. This falls not quite 18 months since AMD stopped production on the AMD G-series LX Processor family which was designed to replace the aging LX800 when it was launched, but it never got traction. AMD dropped the pages for the AMD G-Series and AMD Geode LX800 CPU options a while ago.

They have since updated the Product Lifecycle Roadmap and Planned Production Schedule for the 130nm Geode(LX800) CPU Putting in the Last Time Buy Q2 2024 and Last Time to Ship as Q4 2024.   (as always this is subject to change, however most manufacturers are dropping their LX800 product offerings.)

As Microsoft Windows Embedded Standard 2009 ending Licensing in January 2024 and Windows Embedded Standard 7 ending licensing in July 2025, leaving support for operating systems to Linux (as Microsoft DOS ended along time ago).

Update 12/2023-  While AMD updated their Embedded CPU options:

AMD dropped the pages for the AMD G-Series and AMD Geode LX800 CPU options a while ago.
