What is edge computing?
Edge Computing is a distributed computing model that moves data processing and analysis from centralized data centers to closer proximity to the data source, typically on edge devices such as sensors, gateways, and routers. This reduces data transmission time and cost, and improves data processing efficiency and real-time performance, while also reducing reliance and load on remote cloud data centers.
Edge Computing is typically applied in scenarios that require high real-time performance and low latency, such as smart cities, the Internet of Things (IoT), industrial automation, autonomous driving, and other fields. It enables fast local data analysis and decision-making, thereby improving system efficiency, reliability, and security.
