Description
The ROM-5720 SMARC 2.0/2.1 Computer-on-Module is powered by NXP iMX8 CPU based on the i.MX8M SOC which includes dual and quad-core Arm Cortex-A53 processors in combination with one Cortex-M4 real time processor and Vivante GC7000 Lite 3D Graphics engine. It provides USB3.0, two Gigabit Ethernet, two MIPI-CSI, PCI Express, HDMI2.0 up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz and MIPI-DSI for embedded applications. It’s the ideal solution for Transportation, Infotainment, Vending, Medical and so on. Using the SOM format to allow customers to upgrade their current systems to have IMX8 processing power without major board changes.
ROM-5720 is paired with ROM-DB5901 SMARC Development Carrier Board for faster end product peripheral integration and time-to-market. The reference schematics and layout checklists documentations for carrier board development will be provided along with the open-sourced Linux BSP, test utilities, hardware design utilities and reference drivers.

What is Windows IoT enterprise Base on ARM?
Windows IoT Enterprise Base on Arm is simply Windows IoT Enterprise built for Arm64 devices. Windows IoT Enterprise on Arm64 is the same OS as it is on X86 and X64-based devices, with IoT features available to help you build secure, powerful devices across any architecture. Since the OS is the same, the capabilities and the documentation are the same as well. Please refer to the standard Windows IoT Enterprise documentation for Arm64 guidance.

EMAC is a global leader in system on module and carrier board embedded systems. The System on Module (SoM) is an ideal alternative to custom engineering. With the SoM approach you get the best of aspects of both buying an Off-The-Shelf Embedded Single Board Computer (SBC) and a Custom Engineered solution. With Off-The-Shelf embedded components such as a generic carrier board and SOM module, it is possible to start development on your software applications before the custom carrier board is complete; thus offering a reduced time to market for your system. A System on Module (SoM) is comprised of a small processor module with CPU bus accessibility and standard I/O functionality. The SoM module does not have any connectorization and is designed to be plugged into a Carrier Board.
